CANENA Updates and 2022 Activities
Council Meeting Marks CANENA 30th Anniversary
Over 150 individuals attended the CANENA Council teleconference on February 24th, 2022, showing tremendous support for CANENA and its constituents, marking a major milestone of regional collaboration. CANENA’s 30th anniversary exemplifies the open and collaborative nature of a standardization community that manages an increasing portfolio, over 110 and counting, of safety-designated harmonized product standards recognized as National Standards by Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Sincere appreciation is extended for the vital, sustaining support from UL, CSA Group, and the Asociación de Normalización y Certificación, A.C, and also to the volunteer officers and participants that lead the development of electrotechnical safety Standards with government and regulators as active and equal partners.
As such, CANENA remains an industry-driven initiative, knitting together the national quality infrastructure of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico to provide needed assurance to its Members that they can design one product that will be installed and used as intended in North America. Happy birthday to CANENA and here’s to many more!
